We are looking for you to join our team as a Field Technician 3 based out of McClellan, CA(Sacramento area).
What You’ll get to Do:
Be part of a technical team that installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. You will support and participate in the test, modification, fabrication, assembly, integration, and verification of electrical and mechanical systems. Be responsible for supporting field evolutions up to 60 days in duration with extremely limited contact with the home office.
Responsibilities include: Installation operations, maintenance, repair, configuration management, inventory control, and generation of support documentation.
Additional responsibilities include:
Mobilization/demobilization and operational activities related to field support equipment
Maintaining and updating schematics, manuals and procedures
Generation and tracking of deficiency reports, operational logs, and official daily logs
Generation of trip reports and presentations, as required
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements.
Troubleshoots technical problems, determines technical solutions, and implements and/or supervises repairs without communications reach back or guidance
Develops and conducts technical training and product briefings with customers, vendors and company representatives.
Supports prototype and production builds, to include: assembly, integration, manufacturing, testing and verification of systems/subsystems
Develops and executes test plans and equipment procedures to ensure products are operated and maintained within customer specifications
Conducts inventory audits to identify field equipment shortages
Provides recommendations for hardware enhancements and operational efficiencies
Acts as company representative and maintains effective customer relations via daily direct customer interface
Field Technicians are responsible for maintaining equipment in an operational state including but not limited to:
Video Management Systems (CCTV)
Networked based 2-way communications equipment
Industrial electric power distribution (high voltage/high current)
Telecommunication networks (PABX, VoIP)
Low Voltage Fire/Life Safety Systems
System Administration
Hardware/Software Integration
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
Experience trouble-shooting and repairing electronic/electrical components using a variety of test equipment such as, amp meters, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and test lamps, or similar.
Knowledge interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
Must be willing and able to travel (up to 50)
US Citizen required.
Current active Top Secret/SCI Clearance to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain an adjudicated Poly level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in planning and execution of end-to-end field event
Experience in administering network-based systems, to include LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi networks
Associate degree, advanced technical school or equivalent and 7 years of real world experience
Experience with PTC Windchill or database management
Working knowledge of NFPA 70: National Electric Code
Experience with requirements development, developing design materials, supporting implementation and helping develop training materials, operational procedures, and user guides
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC systems
Experience soldering
Experience with Electric Power Distribution Systems
Experience installing instrumentation on sensitive equipment and performing subsequent monitoring and recording
Experience in a communication related field such as: Inmarsat, Ku SATCOM, UHF SATCOM, SOTOM, TCDL, Link Analysis, Link 16, AEHF
Salary Range: $64,600 - $107,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
