As a Senior Laboratory Technologist you will need to manage all aspects of laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Provide technical expertise and support training and development for junior team members. Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory projects.
In this role you will:
- Conduct verification of new test methods and perform annual validation studies such as linearity assessments, method comparisons, and evaluations of detection and quantitation limits, ensuring that reference ranges are accurately established based on the specific patient population.
- Ensure each new reagent lot is cross-checked against previously validated in-use lots or suitable reference materials, with all outcomes thoroughly documented.
- Write and regularly review technical SOPs to ensure clarity, compliance and alignment with current laboratory practices and regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive Internal Quality Control Plan and External Quality Assurance Control Plan, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in test results.
- Review and authorise all examination results by assessing them against internal quality control data, relevant clinical information, and prior test results. Continuously monitor for trends or biases that may suggest analyser-related issues.
QualificationTo be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Medical/Safety - Other Medical - 5+ Years
- Qualified as a Medical Technologist Preference may be given to candidates with a Masters degree or additional experience in specialised fields.
- Experience in Generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Knowledge/skills:
- Registered and / or licensed as a Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist (or equivalent) in the country of qualification.
- Licensed to practice as a Medical Technologist in Dubai, UAE by the Dubai Health Authority.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior relevant experience in the United Arab Emirates.
- Certified Internal Auditor by Emirates International Accreditation Centre is preferred.
- Proficiency in concepts of IQC, MU, Z score, TAE, LTLV.
