Responsibilities

The Senior Auditor, Tech Ops Quality Assurance plays a significant role in ensuring the ongoing compliance and quality of Spirit’s operations and is responsible for the successful completion and documentation of audits and/or tasks assigned by the Sr. Manager, Tech Ops QA.  The Senior Auditor, Tech Ops Quality Assurance is a professional who understands the standards and principles of auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating, and reporting to determine the vendor’s adequacy and deficiencies.  The Senior Auditor, Tech Ops Quality Assurance evaluates the overall performance and effectiveness of an entity by using the quality tools available and sets an example to other auditors by accomplishing responsibilities and ensuring quality of work as well as compliance with the Spirit Tech Ops audit standards; this also supports the intent to establish credibility within the QA group. 

 

The ability to communicate and coordinate effectively across organizations while supporting and building a positive, team-oriented environment is essential. Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and communication are key skill sets that the role requires to be successful.

 

Frequent travel is required to include domestic and international travel for collaboration with suppliers, aeronautical governmental authorities, industry groups, and other airlines.

  • Utilizes checklists and conducts internal and external audits thorough review of regulations, regulatory guidance, and published Spirit manuals.
  • Consistently provides supporting documentation of all audit findings and all corrective actions.
  • Monitors compliance with procedures required to ensure safe operational practices and airworthy airplanes.
  • Ensures that all audits are conducted with strict confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity while adhering to all company and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Ensures prompt and effective communication with management regarding operational regulatory and safety concerns.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Spirit Airlines Operations manuals.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Transport Category U.S. Airline (14 CFR 121) Operations.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of standards published by the Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.)
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and their interpretations as they pertain to Spirit’s operations.
  • Provides support in ensuring ongoing compliance with IOSA ISARPS.
  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with divisional and external customers on behalf of Spirit Airlines.
  • Reviews and participates in revisions to the quality audit plan due to additional vendor data and audit results.
  • Escalates situations to the appropriate management personnel by making them aware of any and all potentially serious issues in an expeditious manner.
  • Takes initiative to suggest improvements to audit processes and documentation to leadership.
  • Works with divisional and external customers to promote compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in divisional process improvements.
  • Performs investigations involving Technical Operations processes and procedures.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Quality Assurance
  • American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
  • Must be familiar with standards published by the Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.)
  • Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.) Certified (Preferred)
  • Technical Writing
  • Proficient in TRAX functionality and TRAX reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficient in standard audit procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all members of staff as well as external clients/customers.
  • Capable of tracking time and expenses when performing audits
  • Capable of performing data analysis by data mining
  • Able to make determination on external customer compliance-attitude and record appropriately
  • Understands risk assessment methodologies and vendor criticality matrices
  • Capable of creating vendor recommendations to leadership
  • Ability to interpret analytical reports, FARs, ADs and other related documentation.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and a positive attitude toward teamwork
  • Ability to handle numerous projects at one time and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience with regulatory guidance (preferred)

Functional and Behavior Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of F.A.R.s, FAA Guidance (8900, DCTs, etc.) and ASAP AC120.66B
  • Microsoft software suite proficient
  • T.R.A.X. Proficient
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 50 of time
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time
