Position Summary
JOB PURPOSE
The QMS Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, specifically focusing on AS9100 and ISO 9001. This role ensures the plant remains in a constant state of audit readiness and complies fully with aviation regulatory requirements, including P21G
MAIN DUTIES
- Team Leadership & Management
- Manage QMS Team: Provide direct supervision, guidance, and daily management for all QMS staff members.
- Workload Allocation: Delegate tasks related to document control, record maintenance, and audit preparation to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Skill Development: Identify training needs within the QMS team to ensure high levels of competency in aviation standards and internal procedures.
- Audit Leadership & Management
- Audit Preparation: Lead the organization in preparing for external and customer assessments, ensuring all departments meet the necessary compliance levels.
- Leading External Audits: Act as the primary lead and point of contact during third party audits(AS9100/ISO 9001) and Customer Audits.
- Regulatory Liaison: Manage and lead Regulatory Authority audits (EASA) regarding P21G
- Internal Audits: Direct the internal audit program to proactively identify and close compliance gaps.
- System Maintenance & Compliance
- QMS Development: Lead the development and implementation of the QMS in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with P21G (Production Organization Approval)
- Document Control: Maintain and update the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Work Instructions to align with aviation standards.
- CAPA Management: Lead the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to drive sustainable system improvements.
- Operations & Quality Culture
- Certification Control: Manage the issuance and control of aviation release certificates (e.g., Form 1) under the P21G scope.
- Zero Defects Culture: Provide Zero Defects culture training for all new employees to establish a quality mindset from day one.
- Reporting: Prepare and present the Quality Monthly Report to the Quality Manager.
Other tasks assigned by superiors.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
External audits: Achieve external organizational satisfaction
Internal audit: Complete internal audits and implement CAPA for continuous improvement
System Maintenance & Compliance: Ensure the system is continuously updated and effective.
- CAPA Effectiveness: Timely closure and verified effectiveness of internal and external findings
JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
Must-have
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Management, or related fields.
5+ years in Proven experience in Quality System management (QMS) with leader role
Nice-to-have
Proficiency in English (reading technical standards and communicating with external auditors).
- Experience with ISO 9001 or IATF16949 or AS9100 standards, prefer if have lead auditor
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and problem solving - 8D method.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Strong leadership skills to manage the QMS team and drive a Zero Defects culture
Experience with ERP or SAP system.
