Role title
Marketing Manager (9 month FTC)
Your role
The Marketing Manager will play a key role in driving Aer Lingus’ marketing initiatives, supporting business growth and brand presence. Reporting to the Global Marketing Operations Lead, this role is responsible for developing and executing localised marketing strategies in ROI, UK or EU that align with global objectives catering to the unique dynamics of the local market.
The Marketing Manager will manage media plans to ensure that marketing activities drive awareness, acquisition and revenue. Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that marketing activities are integrated into the global strategy to ensure alignment and drive connecting traffic.
The Marketing Manager role is critical to Aer Lingus to expand its presence and market share in these highly competitive markets, key regions for the airlines growth. With the domestic market, UK, connections and wider EU market being major revenue drivers for the airline, this position is essential for ensuring that marketing efforts contribute to overall growth.
Principal Accountabilities:
Marketing Strategy:
Develop &execute marketing strategies for local markets, ensuring alignment with Aer Lingus overall business and commercial objectives.
Identify and capitalise on opportunities to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
Media Planning:
Localise &implement media plans across channels, have a clear understanding of how each channel within the plan supports each-other and where the hand off is with regards to our ‘owned’ channels. Ensure close alignment with Brand and Sponsorship teams.
Audience Management:
Develop &execute audience management strategies to grow and engage target demographics across media platforms, leveraging insights and analytics to refine content delivery, maximise reach, and enhance audience conversion.
Campaign Execution:
Oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns, ensuring they are relevant to the local market and effectively drive engagement, bookings, & revenue.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Ensure that both traditional &digital media strategies are integrated and aligned for maximum impact.
Collaborate with Revenue Management and Growth Strategist to understand the areas of concern, opportunity
Work closely with the Performance Team to ensure a 360-degree view of performance
Support AJB collaboration (when implemented), integration and understanding of how this is influencing performance
Agency Management:
Manage relationships with media agency, creative partners, and other external vendors to execute marketing initiatives. Ensure agencies deliver high-quality work and meet agreed-upon KPIs.
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
Work with the RevMan, Pricing and Growth strategist to track &analyse campaign performance, using data to optimise future marketing efforts.
Budget Management:
Manage the budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.
Your qualifications and key criteria
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- Third level education in Marketing, Media, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in media planning, operations, or campaign execution, preferably within the airline, travel, or consumer-facing industry.
Essential competencies/skills
- Experience managing multi-market media strategies
- Strong analytical reasoning ability
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Eligible to live and work in the EU
- Demonstrated ability to work with both traditional and digital media channels, including TV, print, out-of-home (OOH), and digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of global media landscapes, including trends, regulations, and opportunities across the airline’s key markets.
- Experience working with media agencies and vendors, managing relationships, negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Proficiency in analysing media performance metrics and the ability to derive actionable insights from data to optimize media plans.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns, deadlines, and stakeholders across regions simultaneously.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief creative teams, report to senior leadership, and collaborate across departments.
- Experience in working within or alongside brand, content, and digital teams to align media and creative assets.
- Experience managing and tracking large media budgets across multiple regions, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Ability to manage and report on budget tracking.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring media plans are executed flawlessly and creative assets are delivered to high standards.
- Ability to navigate and adapt media strategies to suit diverse cultural and regulatory environments across different regions.
