Key responsibilities and duties:
The FLM shall be responsible for the Associates within their designated area, including, but not limited to, the following duties:
• Shall ensure appropriate levels of supervision are in place for all activities to be carried out within their area or responsibility, either personally or via delegation to suitably qualified technicians, to enable their team to safely, effectively and efficiently carry out a variety of maintenance activities, within their trade boundaries and authorisations, IAW current procedures.
• Shall, when acting as supervisor IAW VAIL-ENG-090 or when allocating such duties to others in their team, ensure that all staff involved are aware of the scope of work to be carried out and that appropriate stage inspections and safety checks are fully understood PRIOR to commencement of all tasks to be carried out that will require over-signature under an M002 or M004 authorisation.
• Analysing, planning, managing and evaluating the effectiveness of competence, training and education of all Associates within their area.
• Performance Management of all Associates within their area, including compliance with all applicable Regulations, Policies and Procedures.
• Dealing with any disciplinary processes within the team, acting within delegations outlined in HR policy including absence management, return to work interviews, efficiency, timekeeping etc.
• Ensuring effective management of Time and Attendance systems including control and authorisation of leave whilst maintaining operational capability and overtime.
• Carrying out coaching and mentoring of team members at all levels, including apprentices.
• Ensure delivery of output against the plan and performance targets.
• Promote and facilitate Associate Involvement (AI) and Continuous Improvement (CI) within the teams and across the Business.
• Ensuring an appropriate level of communication between team and management.
• To promote and work within StandardAero core values and HR policies.
• To be flexible regarding working location – including overseas.
• Assistance to Line Manager for technical input to draft quotations for O&A tasks.
• Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
(Optional) Planning functions as follows:
• Ordering required spares.
• Task re-planning.
• Raising RFC/NCIRs/emergent task.
• Experience of working on Navixa.
• Routing items.
• Progressing/escalation of dependency issues.
• Effective Resource/Capacity planning.

• Experience with Contractor Working Parties.
• Experience of GSE.
• Familiar with UK MoD MAA Regulatory requirements – MRP 145.
• An appropriate level of technical qualifications and experience.
• An appropriate level of managerial and leadership training.

Professional Qualifications, Education and Training:
Essential:
• Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent. (depending on role).
• Minimum Aerospace Engineering ONC or equivalent.
• Front Line Manager Training within an agreed timescale.
• Human Factors.
Desirable:
• Experience of working with aircraft drawings and work instructions.
• Work Experience Log Book demonstrated experience.
• ARTL course completed.
Experience:
Essential:
• Previous experience within an aircraft base maintenance organisation.
Desirable:
• Demonstrable evidence of engineering experience relevant to role.
• Previous Chinook base maintenance experience.
• Previous helicopter depth maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with Military MRP 145 and associated Regulatory Articles (RA’s).
