Role Overview:
Are you an experienced aircraft sheetmetal technician ready to contribute your expertise to the future of aerospace? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician to join our dedicated team in the aviation industry. In this vital role, you’ll perform detailed modifications, repairs, and installations on airframes and components. Your work will ensure that each aircraft we build and maintain meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Sheetmetal Installations, Modifications, and Repairs (90): Perform sheetmetal installations, modifications, and repairs on Helicopter airframes, ensuring all work meets specifications and quality standards. Handle cutting, joining, and clearance of sheetmetal structures according to design drawings and best practices. Install major and minor modifications per STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) instructions, ensuring proper fit and functionality. Manufacture and install prototype parts, ensuring close tolerance materials are accurately applied for certification purposes. Prepare templates and patterns to simplify installation processes and ensure precise dimensions. Perform sealing installations that meet quality guidelines for both form and function. Create tools, jigs, and processes to improve repeatability and efficiency for lower-level technicians.
Reporting and Cleanup (10): Use Fiche Techniques, Technical Documentation, MES, and SAP to track and document work. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, service bulletins, and inspection reports. Document labor efforts accurately and in accordance with the company’s requirements. Perform routine cleanup and maintenance of tools and workstations.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of sheetmetal installation and/or repair experience on aircraft.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and sketches.
Knowledge of standard shop practices in fabricating and repairing aircraft structures.
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions (e.g., squatting, kneeling).
Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Basic computer skills for accessing and updating electronic documentation and reports (e.g., MES, SAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Airframe or Powerplant license or completion of an applicable trade school program (a plus but not required).
Experience working with Helicopters or similar aircraft.
Familiarity with using specialized hand tools, power equipment, and measuring devices.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.50 per hour
