Role IntroductionReports to: Passenger Network Manager
This role will be part of our Planning(PLN) team, which will play a central part in further optimising our future schedule. You will help develop an integrated plan that strengthens overall connectivity while balancing commercial objectives, customer interests and day‑to‑day operational realities.
As the Assistant Manager of Schedule Assessment, you will work closely with teams across Planning. A key part of your role will be to collaborate with the Strategic Operations Planning and Schedule Integrity Manager in Integrated Operations to review risks and opportunities in the proposed schedule, evaluate options with multiple stakeholders, and jointly deliver the best overall outcome.
You will champion new, data‑driven ways of working across both teams to support more holistic and informed decision‑making for future scheduling and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop expertise in network planning processes and digital tools (including the PLN Network Optimiser) to analyse and optimise the airline’s flight schedule.
- Develop understanding of aircraft rotation process and digital tools (including NetlineSched, Tactical/Strategic Fleet Assigner) to form a holistic picture of scheduling opportunities and constraints.
- Proactively leverage data analytics to identify network performance risks, issues,
and commercial opportunities, translating insights into actionable recommendations. - Champion a data-driven culture by spearheading the adoption of the PLN
Network Optimizer and establishing new, efficient workflows and handshakes. - Identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance passenger connectivity across
the Cathay Pacific (CX) network and also with HK Express (UO). - Analyse and model the commercial impact of proposed schedule changes, taking all commercial aspects and stakeholders’ views into consideration.
- Engage in iterative processes between PLN and IOP to collaboratively work out a balanced approach between operational/commercial trade-offs in the best interest of the company.
- Collaborate with IOP to enhance schedule resilience, by understanding and analysing the impact and value of recommendations by NOVA and Network Optimiser.
- Support the implementation of agreed schedule adjustments, ensuring they are
executed effectively and in line with the broader network strategy. - Continuously review the changes with IOP and measure the impact or value gain to feedback into the Joint Assessment Framework (JAF).
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, Economics, Engineering,
or a related field - 3+ years of experience in airline planning, network planning, scheduling or a
related analytical role - Experience in operational planning functions would be a plus
- High proficiency in data analysis and experience with airline systems will be a
strong advantage - Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer, commercial and
operational priorities - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
