What are your contributions to the team?
- Manage actuarial valuations cycles in Canada and the United States with external vendors;
- Participate in the organization of various committees in Canada and the United States and produce the required material;
- Work closely with the Finance department and actuaries to gather and prove pension related information for quarterly and year-end financial statements;
- Calculate monthly employer contributions to Canadian pension plans and coordinate remittances to the trustee;
- Ensure pension plans around the world remain compliant with local legislation and be responsible for governance activities related to pension plans (plan amendments, notice to members, government filing, pension plans financial statements in Canada and the United States, etc.);
- Coordinate the annual benefits renewal processes around the world;
- Support union negotiations and work closely with the business and external providers;
- Ensure collaboration with external consultants and service providers; and
- Participate to the development of educational material related to pension plans and benefits programs.
How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or mathematics.
- You have between 8 to 12 years of experience in pension plans in Canada (actuarial valuations, design, modifications and pension accounting) in a consulting firm, a head office, or a multinational company.
- You are a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or are in the process of obtaining your fellowship.
- You have superior analytical skills and are very detail-oriented.
- You are able to perform high-quality work under tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment.
- You demonstrate initiative and excellent judgment.
- You have an excellent mastery of French and English, both spoken and written, and you are a strong communicator.
- You have an excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
