Job Summary:
* The Thrust Reverser Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of aircraft thrust reversers in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 145 Repair Station regulations.
* The technician ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications, customer requirements, and company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of thrust reverser components per manufacturer maintenance manuals (MM) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Conduct damage assessments and structural repairs on thrust reversers.
* Interpret and comply with FAA 145 Repair Station regulations, including proper documentation of work performed.
* Utilize hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment to ensure parts meet specifications.
* Identify and replace defective or worn parts, including actuators, cascades, blocker doors, and structural components.
* Perform functional testing of thrust reversers to ensure operational integrity before reinstallation.
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering repairs, drawings, and customer specific data.
* Maintain accurate physical and digital records of maintenance actions performed using company-provided documentation.
* Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Work closely with Quality (QC and QA) Inspectors to ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
* Assist in troubleshooting issues related to thrust reverser systems in coordination with engineers and other technicians.
* Maintain required tools and equipment in proper working order. Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; technical school or aviation maintenance training preferred.
* Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in an FAA 145 Repair Station or similar MRO environment with thrust reverser systems.
* Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred but not required. Skills & Abilities:
* Strong understanding of aircraft structures, composite materials, and mechanical systems.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and service bulletins.
* Knowledge of FAA regulations, EASA, and OEM repair standards.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment under minimal supervision.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces as needed.
* Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required. Certifications & Compliance:
* Compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations and company repair station procedures.
