PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Rapid Response Mechanic to play a crucial role in ensuring aircraft are assembled, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards.
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6 Months)
Location: Wichita, KS 67210
Schedule: Monday to Friday Predominantly 2nd shift but some may work on other shifts
Pay Rate: $53-$58/hour
What You’ll Do:
As a Rapid Response Mechanic, you will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and repairing major structural components to ensure aircraft integrity. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Performing complex structural assembly on fuselage panels, bulkheads, and subassemblies.
Conducting rework operations and troubleshooting structural discrepancies to bring aircraft into compliance.
Removing and replacing skins and major Material Review Board (MRB) repairs outside of the standard shop environment.
Match-drilling components to ensure engineering configuration accuracy.
Conducting precision inspections and functional tests to verify assembly integrity.
Using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments for detailed adjustments.
Ensuring proper stabilization and balancing of jack systems and cradles before starting skin changes.
Moving and handling components as needed to support seamless manufacturing processes.
Assisting in the training of other personnel on assembly, installation, and inspection techniques.
Performing routine minor machine maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition.
Maintaining compliance with engineering specifications and quality control standards.

? Ability to interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
? Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
? High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
? Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Previous experience in aerospace or aircraft manufacturing.
? Knowledge of U.S. Government contracting regulations.
? Experience with match-drilling and major structural repairs.
? Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting expertise.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $58.00 per hour
