As a Machinist Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining shop areas including the chemical room, machine shop, and production floor for day-to-day operations, ensuring FOD control. You will organize shop materials and tools, maintaining 5S compliance. You will also learn to select, align, and secure specified holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, sanders, drill presses, computerized engraving machines, and riveting machines. Additionally, you will assist production technicians with preparing aircraft parts for inspections by using solvent cleaners, paint strippers, and media blast as required. You will stage material and ensure that machines are in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain shop areas including the chemical room, machine shop, and production floor.
• Ensure FOD control and maintain 5S compliance.
• Organize shop materials and tools.
• Learn to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on various machines.
• Assist production technicians in preparing aircraft parts for inspections using solvent cleaners, paint strippers, and media blast.
• Stage material and ensure machines are safe, clean, and orderly.

• 1 year of machining helper experience and/or mechanical machine operation experience or manual machining.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to read from prints.

• Entry-level role assisting CNC and Manual machinists in setting up parts and tooling created by the engineering team.

This position offers a 90-day contract to hire with a performance-based pay increase to $21/hr once direct. Additionally, you will be eligible for paid benefits and production bonuses.

Work Environment

Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to midnight.
