Lead Mechanic (T8):
- Highly proficient with in depth knowledge of engine/module and component induction, kitting and assemble, inspection and dismantle
- Expertise with technical documents and manuals and acts as a resource to other mechanics
- Guides and trains other levels of mechanics
- May have contact with customers
Pre-requisite:
- Mechanical and or aviation experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Essential job functions are the fundamental duties of a position: the things a person holding the job absolutely must be able to do:
Induction/Dismantle of Engine/Components 20
- Set up engine/component into work area
- Complete check in process – reviewing documentation
- Identifying the status of the engine/component and determine if any outstanding modification or airworthiness directive need to be incorporated
- De-stack/disassemble engine, modules, components and/or accessories
- Record and take measurements while dismantling, document with pictures as required
- Prepare parts to get cleaned and repaired, clean parts as required
- Balance as required
Inspection 15
- Inspects the parts determining if they are able to be repaired or replaced
- Route repairable parts to appropriate area
- Place order for parts required
Kit and Assemble Engines/Modules 30
- Ensures all parts required are ready and available for assembly of the engine or component
- Assemble complete engines, modules, components and/or assemblies
- Final release process – checking product for compliance
Follow Manuals and Technical Data 10
- Uses maintenance manuals and specifications to determine proper operating conditions
- Reads technical specifications to identify product discrepancies and deficiencies
- Verifying the conformance of parts to manuals and blueprints
Lead 25
- Assists leader with production flow and work schedules
- Act as back up to leader
- Provides support and guidance to group and able to troubleshoot issues/problems
