KF Aerospace has acquired the North American rights to sell and support Grob aircraft. Nineteen (19) Grob 120TP aircraft have been purchased by SkyAlyne to support the Future Aircrew Training Program for the Royal Canadian Airforce. Based in Moose Jaw, SK, these aircraft will be operated and maintained by CAE on behalf of the RCAF. As part of the purchase commitment Grob is providing Field Service Reps to support the fleet introduction.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Grob Field Service Representative will be the local Grob 120TP expert and be Grob’s Canadian Representative. Grob and KF will provide extensive training (in Germany and Canada) over the next 12 months to prepare the candidate to be the local aircraft expert. Aircraft deliveries to SkyAlyne are expected to start in September 2025.
The position will eventually be based in Moose Jaw, SK and reports to the contractors group. [BS1] with KF Aerospace as the official Grob Representative. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the CAE mechanics on site, warranty processing of parts, handling the necessary ground devices and testing equipment. Other responsibilities include determining the nature of operations and the sequence of operations to be performed as well as maintaining quality levels and ensuring effective cost reductions and cost control monitoring. Regular travel is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Service Representative position is responsible for the following key areas:
Leadership
- Provide technical direction and support to ensure that the component repairs and overhauls are done accurately and adequately
- Maintain a high degree of quality control and safe work practices
- Create and maintain a positive work environment
- Provide technical support to the operator (CAE) during the transition
Work Orders
- Ensure accuracy of all work orders
- Assemble airplanes with the involvement of mechanics on site[BS2]
- Complete static tests with the involvement of the customer’s technicians.
- Brief and support daily air traffic
- Support the assessment of demand for consumable material, spare parts, ground devices, training and personnel.
- Provide instruction[BS3] and supervision of the handling of necessary ground devices and testing equipment
- Initiate and supervise the warranty processing of parts regarding customs regulations and contractual agreements
Customer Service
- Answer and deal with customer service requests from customer representatives
- Provide administrative support to production personnel
Communication
- Support the technicians and mechanics on site
Administrative Support
- Support error tracking and rectification, ideally both in the mechanical and electronic environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Training as an aircraft mechanic, aircraft electronics technician or comparable training, as well as some professional experience
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize and react to change quickly
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Previous military experience would be considered an asset
- Willingness to travel
- Experience with fiber-reinforced composite airframes is considered an advantage

SALARY
The wage band for this role is $48.40-$50.40 per hour. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
