Support heavy maintenance and modification of 737 aircraft by removing and reinstalling structures as required to access repair areas, and repairing carbon fiber and fiberglass on fairings, flaps, slats, and flight controls.

Responsibilities

• Remove and reinstall aircraft structures to access repair areas.
• Repair carbon fiber and fiberglass on various aircraft components.
• Taper-sand materials to remove damage in challenging areas.
• Read repair manuals and drawings to determine necessary materials and repair methods.
• Apply heat blankets with proper thermocouple placement and bagging schedule.
• Operate a Heatcon hot-bond console.
• Build splashes from fiberglass and resin for the curing process.

• Composite repair experience
• Fiberglass and carbon fiber repair
• Aircraft maintenance experience
• Blueprint reading

• 4+ years of recent aircraft composite repair experience

• 2+ years of recent aircraft composite repair in an MRO environment
• A&P license
• Experience repairing carbon fiber and fiberglass structures on aircraft
• Willingness to wear a half-face respirator
• Possession of minimum hand tools (basic wrenches, socket set, hi-lok plier)

Work Environment

Large MRO hangar setting with work hours from Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday, with possible Saturday work. Shifts are 4 hours long, either from 05:30 to 16:00 or 15:30 to 02:00. Extra shifts and overtime are available. The first week consists of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00
