The Chief Inspector is a pivotal leadership role within Silver Air’s Maintenance and Compliance teams, entrusted with safeguarding the airworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance of the aircraft fleet throughout their operational lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance (DOM), this position drives strategic quality assurance initiatives, ensuring seamless conformity, precise documentation, and robust compliance practices to maintain operational excellence under Part 135.
As a key leader, the Chief Inspector oversees and empowers a high-performing team of Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspectors, Conformity Specialists, and Quality Assurance Specialists. This role combines technical expertise with strategic foresight to enhance processes, foster continuous improvement, and uphold Silver Air’s reputation for unparalleled safety and reliability in private aviation.
Key Responsibilities1. Aircraft Conformity and Regulatory Compliance:
- Direct the aircraft conformity process, ensuring timely and successful integration of aircraft into Silver Air’s Part 135 certificate.
- Serve as the primary liaison with FAA inspectors, leading coordination for approvals, certifications, and audits.
- Validate return-to-service (RTS) documentation for precision, completeness, and adherence to FAA and company standards.
2. Leadership and Team Development:
- Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of quality and inspection professionals, cultivating a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Establish clear performance metrics, provide ongoing feedback, and drive professional growth within the team.
3. Strategic Quality Assurance Programs:
- Oversee the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance Program (CASP) to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Lead internal audits of maintenance programs, MEL compliance, and vendor facilities, driving corrective actions and sustained improvements.
- Ensure meticulous management and auditing of aircraft records, including airframe, engine, and APU documentation.
4. Process Innovation and Documentation:
- Develop, refine, and implement inspection protocols, standards, and manuals, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Oversee the creation and submission of critical documentation, including RVSM manuals and FCC radio licenses.
- Ensure precise control and filing of FAA conformity packages, maintaining data integrity.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration and Vendor Relations:
- Partner with aircraft maintenance vendors to ensure seamless and compliant return-to-service outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with FAA representatives, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, flight crews, and safety teams, to align goals and enhance overall performance.
6. Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
- Analyze inspection trends and maintenance outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive corrective actions and implement innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the quality and compliance departments.
Qualifications

Licenses: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years in aircraft maintenance, with at least 5 years in private aviation under Part 135.
- Proven expertise in leading aircraft conformity processes and quality assurance programs.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, MEL programs, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins.
