About the Role:
As an Aircraft Mechanic, youll play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems, ensuring operational readiness and reliability. This hands-on position involves working on a variety of exterior and interior aircraft systems, including hydraulics, flight controls, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines. Your skills will be pivotal in supporting depot-level and heavy general maintenance tasks for the F15 aircraft.
Job Type: Full time; Consultant (12 Months)
Location: San Antonio, TX 78226
Pay Rate: $35.00-40.00 per hour
Schedule: Available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform critical maintenance, sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving aircraft structure and systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to execute modifications and repairs to aircraft.
- Utilize unique tools like torque wrenches, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes to perform repairs and modifications.
- Install, remove, and rig flight control systems; service landing gears and replace essential components.
- Access and manage aircraft data to initiate parts and discrepancy requests, ensuring smooth operations.
- Prioritize tasks to meet mission schedules while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Work on a variety of systems, including hydraulic, fuel, and engine systems, using precision tools and techniques.
- Operate various equipment and ensure all work is done in compliance with established safety and operational procedures.
- Perform tasks in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and noisy environments, following PPE guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 4+ years of on-aircraft general maintenance experience, particularly with fixed-wing aircraft.
- Proficiency in aircraft systems, including hydraulics, flight controls, landing gear, fuel, and engine systems.
- Experience with depot-level and heavy general maintenance, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings and retrofitting requirements.
- Strong knowledge of aviation tools and equipment such as micrometers, torque wrenches, and cable tensiometers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in various positions.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as mission requirements demand.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred:
- FAA A&P License or Military Technical School equivalent.
- Experience with engine runs, engine borescope inspections, and operating forklifts/mobile cranes.
- Experience using aircraft-related computer systems and office software.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
