The Material Handler will safely pick and deliver materials to assembly, take away the finished goods and deliver to shipping while ensuring the quality of the product.
You Main Responsibilities:
Keep safety as a primary focus by working safely, following safety policies and work instructions, asking for help, promptly reporting safety concerns, and utilizing the Stop & Seek program, as required.
Pull materials for cells by using a computer to identify needed materials based on the route.
Deliver picked materials at required intervals. Support assembly needs by delivering what they need when they need it, while following the tugger timetable.
Maintain quality of parts while in transit to cell ensuring the correct quantity and containers are used and parts are handled correctly.
Take away empty containers, dunnage, tubs and baskets from cells and superspanet.
Help develop and sustain revised material and tugger routes and standard work. Ensure ability to adhere to the routes designated times and stops.
Positively support change initiatives by actively contributing to and participating in lean principles and Kaizen events.
Promote 5S + Safety in the superspanet and maintain a clean organized superspanet with parts clearly labeled and overflow material clearly identified.
Ensure “First-In-First-Out” (FIFO) of material through fixed shelf locators and overflow areas. Add and remove “Pick from Overflow Area” tags as needed.
Positively and actively contribute to High Performance Teams (HPTs) by participating in team improvement boards (TIB) reviews, problem solving and task completion.
Promote and practice 5S + Safety approach by keeping work area neat, clean, and organized, and following safety and housekeeping rules.
Be a respectful team player and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all team members and supervision.
Perform all other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
We are looking for talent with:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work as part of a team and with minimum Supervision adhering to standard work.
Be willing to learn system requirements of Microsoft Office and KANBAN database usage.
Basic knowledge of general computer functions
Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to train others.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently will stand, walk, pull, push, twist, grasp and handle.
Regularly will lift up to 25 pounds and kneel.
Ability to operate a motorized tugger
Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day
