Summary:
Under limited supervision, remove, install, and fabricate aircraft interiors, including trim, carpet, cabinetry, panels, and accessories.
Ensure all work meets company design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Mentor and train junior technicians.
Perform safe and precise interior installations and fabrications, including galleys, closets, lavatories, bulkheads, and panels.
Ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, FAA regulations, and quality standards.
Mentor and train technicians, reviewing work for quality control.
Oversee projects, procure materials, and coordinate tasks as needed.
Utilize material tracking systems to create parts demands, track squawks, and sign off work.
Operate hand and power tools, maintaining proper care of equipment.
Install aircraft interior components per operational procedures and standards.
Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and fasteners.
Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, addressing unsafe conditions proactively.
Assist with aircraft maintenance tasks as needed.
Adapt to schedule changes and coordinate with other departments.
Support process improvements to reduce cost and cycle time using Lean Six Sigma.
Create and use simple patterns following standardized procedures.
Participate in aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests if required.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED.
4 years of installation, fabrication, or related experience (aerospace experience preferred).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
Proficiency with hand and power tools for interior installation.
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs., and work any shift.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of aircraft interior fabrication, including composite panels, Lexan, and acrylic materials.
Must be computer literate and fluent in English.
