Job Title: Seat Repair Technician - ApprenticeJob DescriptionThe Apprentice Technician will be responsible for the repair and overhaul of passenger seats for commercial aircraft, as part of heavy maintenance programs. Apprentices will apply their knowledge and aptitude with hand tools and drawings while learning the repair procedures and tasks, alongside experienced technicians and leads.
Responsibilities
- Review task cards with drawings and tools requirements
- Gather tools, parts, and kits for assigned repairs
- Work with technicians and leads to understand, learn, and apply the procedures
- Disassemble seats and related components
- Identify repairs or replacements to be performed
- Install modifications and replacement parts
- Reassemble seats and components
Essential Skills- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Experience in assembly and maintenance
- Ability to follow repair procedures
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience using hand tools for repairs or production/assembly (work, home, or school)
- Ability to read instructions and basic drawings in English
- Eligibility for FAA Safety Sensitive hire
- Preferred: Experience in repair/overhaul of mechanical or electrical products

Work Environment
The work environment is an open warehouse shop setting with work tables and a tool crib. It is a quiet environment with plenty of room, located across the street from the main Component building. Work hours are Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday, with possible Saturday work. Shifts are 5 hours long, either from 0500 to 1530 or from 1530 to 0200. The first week will consist of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours. Orientation is on 2/10. The current shop operates only from 0500 to 1530, but there could be an addition of a 1530 to 0200 shift. Total hours worked per week will not exceed 44 hours, including up to 4 hours of overtime.
