Job Description:
The SNC TRAX Test Engineer is responsible for developing formal test procedures for tactical data links and related software. This includes writing formal Software Test Plans (STPs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The TRAX Test Engineer is responsible for the development and the design of any Special Test Equipment (STE) and fixtures in support of development and production testing.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain all related test procedure documentation
  • Maintain a high level of competence by staying abreast of state-of-the-art testing methods and technologies
  • Interface directly with the Program Managers, Systems Engineers and Engineering Service Managers to assist in the development and execution of Test procedures and Acceptance Testing
  • Attend and participate in Engineering design reviews to contribute to the understanding of test requirements
  • Prepare Test Plans, Procedures and Reports assuring that they support the program test requirements
  • Provide support and development for off-site environmental, integration and acceptance testing requirements

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or other related discipline and typically 0-2 or more years of experience
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration
  • Experience with planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities
  • Emerging understanding of testing methodologies and state-of-the-art test equipment
  • Technical problem solving skills and ability to develop innovative technical solutions
  • Ability to work successfully in highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Familiarization with tactical radios such as BATS-D, PRC-163, PRC-148, amongst others
  • Experience with test tools and software emulators
  • Familiar with requirement traceability software such as JAMA or DOORS to document requirement link relationships
  • Excellent communication skills to work with and understand unfamiliar systems as described to you by a SME
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Link-16, Joint Range Application Extension Protocol (JREAP), Situation Awareness Data Link (SADL), and Variable Message Format (VMF) testing
