Senior Manufacturing Engineer-Projects:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineering role is a technical role supporting a manufacturing center or specific program. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer utilizes manufacturing technical principals, theories, and concepts to apply manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, systems, etc.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to the successful completion of projects while specializing their skillset in manufacturing technologies. In addition, this role may perform data analytics with emphasis on aircraft build and program metrics.
Contributing to the successful completion of major projects by planning, organizing, and providing project leadership for activities related to the build of aircraft that support strategic priorities or difficult technical objectives.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer -Projects:

Understands advanced manufacturing technical principles, theories, and concepts to develop imaginative manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, concepts, processes, systems, and tools.

Represents Production Engineering as manufacturing technical contact on projects, programs, and/or cross-functional teams by providing estimates, earned value reporting, assists with aligning budgets, and supports build team strategic initiatives such as long lead strategy.

Direct customer-facing experience either supporting production, industrialization of product, or frontline leadership while managing all project elements including scope, schedule, resources, cost, risk, and quality.

Develops scope of work, resource estimates, progress metrics, and communication cadence for overall project management to meet mission-critical objectives.

Perform producibility analysis and manufacturing trade studies to determine cost-effective solutions to complex manufacturing technical objectives by working closely with the IPT’s during design phase to comprehend part and assembly designs and be effective at matching products with suppliers and their capabilities.

Become a Subject Matter Expert on Bell systems (SAP, ENOVIA, etc.) and may support strategy development.

May support or develop program-level metrics dashboards and supporting databases to provide progress/status for build, material, tooling, and planning.

Works through a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing tasks and projects to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.

Work and deliverables reviewed and checked through team leadership.

Mentors and shares manufacturing technology with teammates and colleagues.

May evaluate solutions and provide database support for a tailored planning database and shop floor execution process.

Operate effectively and establish appropriate priorities under ambiguous conditions in a fast-paced environment with numerous concurrent activities.

Develop risk mitigation plans and solutions as issues arise to avert schedule impacts to the build of the competitive prototype aircraft.

Interpret program, build, and material metrics and translate this information into actionable activities to ensure program success.

Identify improvements to the build support processes and take initiative to implement changes within the immediate team and across the program.

Provide status and present data to the program manager, build team manager, and chief engineer for assigned projects and build/material activities.
