The Principal Engineering Technician serves as a senior technical resource and mentor, performing complex technical work to support the design, development, modification, and improvement of equipment, tools, processes, and test systems.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor and guide junior technicians by providing technical direction and troubleshooting expertise
- Support the design, development, modification, and improvement of equipment, tools, and engineering processes
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, problem analysis, and technical solutions using complex instrumentation and software tools
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering support materials
- Create and manage spreadsheets for data analysis, technical reports, and engineering documentation
- Assist with test software development and system validation activities
- Develop and interpret complex block diagrams and system documentation
- Apply and interpret technical specifications, requirements, contracts, policies, and engineering standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and technical innovation
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Associate’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering technician experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and technical problem solving
- Complex instrumentation and engineering test equipment
- Technical documentation and spreadsheet-based data analysis
- Test software support and validation
- Block diagram development and system documentation
- Ability to interpret complex specifications, engineering requirements, contracts, standards, and policies
