Role Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the definition, design, and control of the manufacturing and production process, including tooling, equipment, and product.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products and technologies from bid and proposal through hand-off to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, to ensure manufacturability and quality of new products.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety and quality.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, etc. in support of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and lead manufacturing reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities for manufacturing issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and Lean manufacturing principles and tools such as Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques
- Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
The base pay range for this position is $64,600 - $78,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on February 27, 2025.
