The Position:
We are seeking a proven Engineering Leader to drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This role will lead high-performing teams, architect cloud-native data platforms, and collaborate closely with business, AI/ML, and BI teams to deliver end-to-end data products that power innovation and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
What We’re Looking ForProven people leadership with strong experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams; prior managerial responsibility is essential.
Deep, hands-on expertise in AWS-based data platforms, with significant ownership of end-to-end data projects using services such as EMR, EKS, Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, and SageMaker.
Strong Python development experience within the last 5 years, applied to data engineering, orchestration, automation, and cloud-native data workflows.
Solid experience designing and implementing cloud-native data architectures, including Lakehouse frameworks (Glue Data Catalog, Iceberg, Delta Lake) and distributed processing engines (Spark, Hive, Presto).
Hands-on exposure to real-time and streaming data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink.
Proficiency in orchestrating complex workflows using Apache Airflow and managing production-grade pipelines.
Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices using GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and CloudFormation, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and automation.
Strong understanding of data governance, MDM strategies, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), with experience implementing best practices in cloud environments.
Ability to design and develop REST-based middleware APIs to integrate data platforms with applications, analytics, and downstream consumers.
Experience collaborating with and enabling AI/ML teams, including feature engineering, model training, and deployment pipelines, particularly using AWS SageMaker.
Strong working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as Redshift, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
Familiarity with BI enablement, data modeling, and visualization, including tools like Amazon QuickSight.
In-depth understanding of security best practices for AWS data architectures, including IAM, encryption, and network controls.
Demonstrated success in driving data and AI/ML initiatives from concept through production, with measurable business impact.
Early career background can be in any application or software development role, with a strong foundation in programming and system design is preferred.
