Position Summary
The Repair / Process Engineer coordinates with other departments to establish the materials, equipment, tools, fixtures, specifications and processes for the repair and production of industrial / aircraft components.
He ensures that all repair instructions are prepared in compliance with customer/OEM specification and are documented in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements.
He embraces a continuous improvement culture through conducting cost reduction and process improvements projects.
Responsibilities
New Product Industrialization
Coordinate and interact with the outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development.
Support troubleshooting and maintenance of processes and equipment
Attend to day‐to‐day quality/production issues. Participate in QA, MRB, and Investigation of Customer Complaint & product warranties. Prepare report on findings and make recommendation to prevent recurrence.
Review technical publication and update work Instructions and Routers.
Build up company’s depth and expertise in assigned processes to meet industry standards.
Lead & participate in process reviews to implement process certifications and maintain compliance.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement, safety and engagement programs.
Maintain Part Master in the Oracle system.
Maintain classification matrix for parts for Export Control compliance.
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
University degree in metallurgy, mechanical or chemical engineering; or higher.
Experience:
Specific experience in development and implementation of welding, brazing, thermal spray coatings and chemical processes.
Experience in an aerospace MRO or manufacturing process engineering environment.
Experience in tooling/fixture design and use precision measurement instruments and gauges and GDT.
Skills/Knowledge:
Proficient with use of PC and Office applications like Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Projects and 3D CAD software.
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills.
Thorough knowledge of company process, company instruction and rework process instruction manuals.
Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
Ability to read and interpret engine manual repair instructions, inspection criteria, and part blueprints and translate these to Routers and Job Instructions.
Ability to manage Workplace Challenges with Resilience. Conform to shifting of priorities to meet demand and timelines.
