Purpose of the position

We are looking for a (Cloud) Data Engineer to join our team. You will be part of a team that is company-wide responsible to provide end-to-end data solutions for different audiences ranging from Management to different functional (Commercial, Operational,...) areas.

Your tasks

In order to deliver complete end-solutions within the company, you work intensively with the business analysts, the IT department (architects and integration engineers), and with the various BI team-members (data engineers and data analysts).

As such, you will gather business requirements, design the model, and implement the solution in an agile fashion. The solutions you and the team provide are aiming to increase the level of analytics and efficiency in the different areas, highly impact the decision making, and therefor play a vital role in the future success of our company.

Last but not least, you are eager to learn and grow, innovation is a natural interest, and you love to stay in touch with the latest technological trends in the data & analytics domain.

Your profile

• Master degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or Management or equivalent through experience
• At least 4 years of experience in a data analytics role
• Strong conceptual capabilities and ability to understand business requests from all levels and ability to translate requests into technical requirements
• Excellent methodological and analytical skills and ability to quickly understand complex issues
• Good interpersonal & intercultural communication skills.
• Self-organized work attitude
• Action & solution oriented with positive attitude
• Highly motivated team player and positive influencer
• Very good English verbal and written skills. Dutch and/or French is a plus
• You have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in data domains like:
• Data Warehousing approaches and methodologies: Kimbal, Inmon, etc
• Data modeling techniques: ER modeling, 3NF,Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modeling, …
• Data integration, ETL, ELT incl SQL, TSQL…
• Programming languages like: Python, R, PySpark...
• Professional experience in on-premise SQL Server Suite is required / recommended (SSIS, SSMS)
• Professional experience with visual analytics, dashboards and report design (e.g. Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau, ...)
• Some Experience in Data Lake (Lakehouse) and Big Data approaches architectures
• Participated in a data platform migration is a plus
• Knowledge and experience with cloud (Azure) platforms and experience with (Azure) PAAS components for data & analytics
• Professional Experience in the following tools of the Microsoft Azure Stack: (azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Event Hubs and Azure Stream Analytics,…)
• Good knowledge of Big data and NoSQL technologies
• Data science
