Description:This exciting position is with our historic Skunk Works program. Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheeds Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. Applications Engineer Senior Staff:

The primary focus for this role is to integrate and manage the multiple project efforts within the Operations Technology team in the area of applied metrology technology and processes to resolve technical manufacturing problems. This includes various fabrication aspects, automated and manual assembly processes, use of advanced metrology equipment and software such as laser based scanners, optical metrology, dimensional analysis software, quality and calibration methods.

Additional responsibilities and role description include:
• Technical and subject matter expert for the Operations Technology group responsible for manufacturing technology and development efforts in the area of applied metrology in support of our ADP (Advanced Development Programs) line of business.
• Responsible for leading a team of engineers and stakeholders towards executing program related projects, interfacing with program key stakeholders to manage technical project performance, approach, and provide overall technology status.
• Perform through direct execution and team delegation, project and portfolio technical direction, process development, project reporting, cost benefit analysis, trade studies, manufacturing assessments, process definition and testing, industry capability evaluations and technical demonstrations. Also provide broader enterprise consultation on stretch assignments across other sites and lines of business.
• This position includes engineering, technical, and project management aspect for projects ranging in life cycle phase from manufacturing process investigation and development, test and improvements, manufacturing equipment and system specification, procurement and supplier management, integration and production support.

In addition to this roles primary focus, project support may include various areas of aerospace manufacturing impacting the primary role ranging from:
• Metallic and composite fabrication
• Assembly
• System integration
• Aircraft finishes and coatings
• Manufacturing systems

• Must be a US citizen, this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
• Existing or the ability to attain a Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience working with geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing
• Experience developing advanced technology, processes, and requirements definition
• Experience with quality and calibration standards, gage repeatability and reliability techniques.
• Experience with aerospace production environments and processes
Desired Skills:
• Secret level security clearance
• Experience working in advanced manufacturing concepts as they relate to current and emerging aircraft platforms
• Knowledge of military aircraft design, fabrication, assembly, finishes, and inspection methods and tools
• Knowledge of industry best practices for a broad range of metrology systems and capabilities
• Knowledge of industry metrology software tools such as Polyworks and similar
• Creative approach to technical problem solving
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $112,800 - $216,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $129,700 - $244,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.
