StandardAero Houston is a premier business aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility specializing in the service of mid-sized corporate jets. We support an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Learjet, and Embraer. In addition to comprehensive airframe services, the facility features a state-of-the-art engine shop and test cell, performing overhauls on TFE731 and CFE738 engines. This A&P Mechanic will work in our Engine Shop, performing overhauls on TFE731 and CFE738 engines (all models). This includes engine disassembly, inspection, identifying and correcting discrepancies, engine builds, and engine performance testing.
What You Will Do:
- Inspect aircraft per OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance Manuals.
- Remove and install wheels, brakes, flight controls and riggings
- Evaluate removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies.
- Troubleshoot and repair airframe systems including hydraulics, landing gear, and more.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Analyze mechanical problems to determine the best repair methods.
- Test, repair, and adjust engines, engine controls, and flight controls.
- Check and repair fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling, and pressurization systems.
- Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Remove and reinstall engines from turbofan aircraft.
- Conduct operational checks and engine runs to ensure airworthiness prior to departure.
- Make informed decisions on maintenance techniques and troubleshooting.
- Availability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends to support business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid Airframe & Powerplant License (A&P).
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TFE 731 and/or CFE 738 engines.
- Previous military or technical school training in aviation maintenance.
