Job Description:
As an Electronics Assembler, you will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. These include modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. You will work from diagrams and drawings, use hand and power tools, and ensure quality through continuity checks and inspections. Additionally, you will disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components such as modules, boards, panels, and cables per diagrams and instructions.
- Utilize microscopes to verify part placement, align parts manually, and conduct post-reflow inspections and touch-ups.
- Inspect solder joints and identify defects such as shorts, voids, bridges, and insufficient solder; touch-up as needed.
- Perform continuity checks on work in progress and finished assemblies.
- Conduct quality inspections on production lines in accordance with quality specifications.
- Disassemble, rework, reassemble, and test prototype or experimental assemblies.
- Adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols during assembly and handling.
- Use a variety of tools, including manual and automatic wire strippers, crimping tools, and jigs.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- IPC-610 Certification or training.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position with strong soldering and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) skills.
- Proficient in mechanical assembly, working from written work instructions, drawings, sketches, and wiring diagrams.
- Skilled in soldering fine-pitch and surface-mount components.
- Experience working in an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) environment.
- Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cable termination and familiarity with crimping specifications.
- Ability to work with both automated and hand crimping tools.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and testing electronic assemblies.
- Comfortable working with a variety of hand tools and microscopes.
Work Environment:
- Clean and organized manufacturing facility emphasizing safety and efficiency.
- Air-conditioned, well-spaced workstations providing a comfortable work environment.
- Collaborative work atmosphere with individual workstations.
Hours:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Fridays off).
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (Fridays off).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
