Job Profile The Avionics Technician performs inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, FAA regulations, and Vista Aircraft Maintenance procedures. This role may also function as an Authorized Inspector, conducting in-process and final inspections for return to service. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Vista Aircraft Maintenance Van Nuys is an FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station, offering complete nose-to-tail, airframe, powerplant, and avionics care, maintenance, inspection and repair services. The company serves as a dedicated maintenance provider for the Vista fleet.
The Maintenance team is made up of Engineering and Mechanics, Maintenance Control, Response and Mobile Response teams. Responsibilities
- Execute tasks assigned by the Avionics Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to meet project deadlines and return-to-service goals.
- Troubleshoot, repair, test, remove, and replace avionics and instrument systems using appropriate tools, test equipment, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with aircraft maintenance manuals, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- May perform Authorized Inspector duties, including final inspections and return-to-service approval as authorized.
- Document completed work accurately on work orders, including the removal and installation of parts and components.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers, troubleshooting discrepancies and performing in-flight evaluations as needed.
- Maintain avionics test equipment and workspaces in accordance with company standards.
- Mentor less experienced technicians through on-the-job training (OJT) to develop team skills and maintain high work quality.
- Attend manufacturer and company technical training to improve technical proficiency and update personal training logs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Part 145 environment; Part 135 experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Gulfstream and Bombardier aircraft preferred.
- Strong understanding of maintenance reference materials, including maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and component manuals.
- Proficiency with CMP and CAMP maintenance tracking programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

The salary range for this position is $26-$55 per hour.
