Summary:
Perform advanced operational and functional testing of avionics and aircraft electrical systems
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace defective components and wiring using approved practices (splicing, soldering, pinning, etc.)
Install and functionally test avionics components per engineering drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals
Lead and support process improvements to reduce cost and maintain schedule without compromising Safety or Quality
Provide technical guidance and cross-training to technicians
Oversee incorporation of engineering changes and modifications
Set up and operate required test equipment; evaluate system performance and reliability
Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all maintenance activities
Pre-inspect work prior to Quality review to reduce rework
Enforce FOD, tool control, 5S, and safety programs
Coordinate with other disciplines and adapt to changing schedules
Perform self-inspections for avionics testing functions
Support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests as required
Maintain and troubleshoot test equipment and electronic systems
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Six (6) years of experience in an avionics/electrical field; OR
Two (2) years of accredited aviation electronics schooling plus four (4) years of related experience
A&P License, FCC License, or NCATT Certification preferred
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of additional aircraft systems (hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental systems, structures)
APU and engine run qualifications preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
