Warranty Analyst (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Warranty

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the analysis of all warranty costs associated with new aircraft as well as new parts. Ensure the Company goals are met with regarding the administration of warranty not only airframe, but from all original equipment manufacture (OEM) products on Company aircraft.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Review and approve all warranty claims involving labor allowances, material (both company manufactured and purchased parts), publication compliance and special credit requests.

Create and Review all warranty reports to include direct costs by aircraft model, serial number, and part number; submit findings to the Manager, Warranty.

Interface with dealer organization, vendors and aircraft owners to explain the warranty policies and procedures of the company.

Support the Customer Service Technical Support organization as needed and on an on-call basis for the 24-7 customer tech line.

Analyze the occurrences of warranty conditions to help correct the problem and reduce warranty costs.

Maintain close liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Part Sales, Shipping, Production Control, Customer Relations (Technical Support), and Sales and Marketing departments.

Notify Product Refinement when a questionable item has been returned to the field.

Assist in the review/revision process to Piper’s Approved Labor Rate published book.

Track vendor and major OEM warranty costs.

Review dealer accounts with Accounts Payable to ensure correct warranty credits are applied.

Coordinate all aspects of the Material Return Order (MRO) and Parts Return Processes.

Acknowledge orders; generate outbound and print orders periodically throughout the day

Investigate and perform inventory reversals/adjustments.

Maintain Warranty Cores warehouse.

Maintain departmental files and records.

Scrap parts as necessary.

Act as Warranty Supervisor in the absence of the Warranty Supervisor.

Perform other related duties as required.

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma, or general education degree (GED), and minimum of three years Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic experience required or equivalent education and experience. Pilot license or minimum ground school certificate preferred.

Extensive knowledge of Windows’ based computer programs is necessary to perform the duties in this position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
