Be a Key Player in Our Billing Team as a Verification Specialist!
Are you detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy? Do you have experience in healthcare insurance verification? If so, we want you on our team!
As a Verification Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that patient insurance information is accurate and up to date. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide efficient billing services, ensuring that patients receive the critical care they need without unnecessary financial complications. In this role, you’ll verify insurance details, update patient records, and collaborate with internal teams to keep our processes running smoothly—all while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
What You’ll Do
• Verify Insurance Information – Secure and confirm insurance details and patient demographics with accuracy.
• Update Billing Systems – Enter verified insurance details into our system to ensure smooth billing processes.
• Manage Front-End Holds – Address unbilled accounts and follow up with patients to collect missing billing information.
• Ensure Compliance – Follow HIPAA laws and department policies while handling sensitive patient data.
• Communicate with Leadership – Notify management when updates are needed for insurance payor details.
• Support the Team – Assist with other duties as assigned to contribute to overall department success.
What You Bring to the Team
✔ Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry (preferred).
• Experience in medical billing, collections, or insurance verification is a plus.
✔ Knowledge & Skills:
• Understanding of Government, Commercial, and Private insurance payers (preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, particularly over the phone.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
✔ Tech-Savvy:
• Comfortable navigating insurance portals and web pages for research.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
