Summary
The Sr. Subcontracts Administrators primary role is to develop, negotiate, execute, and maintain subcontract agreements, specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services with key subcontractors.Position Responsibilities
- Works on strategic proposals, Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFPs) & Request for Quotes (RFQs) which may include Letters of Intent, Teaming Agreements, Export Licenses & NDAs
- Requires strong negotiation skills and able to conduct detailed price and cost analyses
- Monitors subcontract performance to ensure cost, technical, quality and contractual objectives are being met
- Maintains subcontracting records in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, AVs procurement policies and procedures and CPSR standards, as applicable
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelors Degree in related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum of 8 – 12 years of directly related DoD and Commercial subcontracts experience
- Must have proven working knowledge of diverse contract types, medium to highly complex subcontracts
- Experience conducting detailed price/cost analysis, including subcontracts that exceed the Truthful cost and pricing data threshold
- Experience negotiating with commercial and International Suppliers/Subcontractors
- Have a solid knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; be self-motivated and takes initiative
- Strong computer skills including PowerPoint, MS Office and Project Management tools
- Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Related contracts/subcontracts coursework is preferred
- NCMA or college level certifications preferred
- Successfully organizes and prioritizes task in dynamic work environment; Demonstrates competency in analyzing a problem and recommending solutions
- Works well under pressure with ability to be flexible and accept change
- Demonstrates competency in coordinating detailed Technical Evaluations with other organizations
- Works well with engineering and program teams to establish requirements/Statement of Works, issue Request for Proposals, and manage high dollar and complete subcontracts
- Must work with a minimum of supervision
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
- Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
- Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above ones own interests

$97,680 - $138,600AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.

This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
