Responsibilities

- Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers through bid evaluations, cost analyses, price justification, and risk assessments.
- Support supplier negotiations for new procurements and changes to existing purchase orders.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and supplier contracts in accordance with company policies.
- Develop bidder lists and formal requests for quotation/proposal (RFQ/RFP) and recommend awards based on total cost of ownership.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and lead times; document results in contracts and purchase orders.
- Align with Planning on inventory strategies, including MOQ, safety stock, VMI/Kanban, and consignment arrangements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Logistics to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Coordinate and participate in supplier meetings to review performance, resolve issues, and drive improvement.
- Conduct supplier site visits to assess production capability, performance, delivery reliability, and other key business criteria.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance; identify risks and implement corrective actions to prevent supply disruptions.
- Apply continuous improvement methods to internal sourcing and procurement processes; lead or support improvement initiatives with key suppliers.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications; perform comparative analyses to support sourcing decisions and evaluate proposed changes in methods and materials.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes by managing material availability, Start of Production (SOP) dates, and minimizing material obsolescence risk.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of supply chain concepts, sourcing methodologies, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to understand business processes and identify automation and process-improvement opportunities.
- Proficient in standard business applications and MRP/ERP systems; able to work effectively with electronic procurement and materials systems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels and with suppliers.
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing and negotiating principles, practices, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement principles and techniques.
- Advance user of Excel, Word, Power Point and knowledge of Power Bi and AI tools.
- Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP are preferred.
