Position Summary
Planner/Buyer is responsible for and manage purchasing of raw materials, components and services, materials requirements planning to maximize production efficiency, minimizing raw material and work in process inventory, and meeting customer’s required dock dates. Manage the supplier & customer relationship to align supply and demand for the operation.
Responsibilities
• Manage production work orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals and related planning data.• Reviews production capacity requirements: Monitors the reports and ensures capacity is available to meet the production plan.• Manage MRP to release raw material purchase orders as necessary to meet production schedule and inventories plan.• Resolve inventory discrepancies or related to material flow in the processes, identifying the root cause and implementing corrective actions.• Manage of the open orders and expedite request with suppliers while work with the Division to maintain the on-time Delivery metric for suppliers.• Support and take actions to manage inventory control on the materials assigned in order to achieve the Divisional metric.• Support on the JDE procurement system as back up for the department.• Lead PFEP/Finished good strategy with the Planning team working to ensure the LISC metric on A parts.• Drive the Kanban process on the site: owner of the assigned value stream and assist to planners/buyers to follow their own.• Lead the lean initiatives on Planning by identifying/eliminate inefficient processes and support lead time reduction projects.• Support on the transfer of new production lines on the site ensuring the minimum requirements from the supply chain perspective.• Support to identify any potential risk on supply and work with Commodities Manager to mitigate/avoid risk.• Contribute to Sales and Operations planning.• Get data demand and forecast analysis

Education: Engineering or administrative bachelor’s degree.Experience: 3-5 years of experience in supply chain areas: Procurement, Warehouse and Inventories, Production planning, manufacturing processes, continues improvement and cost reduction projects.Languages: Advanced EnglishQualifications and desired skills: •Management of MRP system•APICS certification preferred.•Microsoft Office•Inventory management •Kanban•Lean Manufacturing•Procurement• Scheduling techniques•Understand operational and financial metrics.•Diplomacy and negotiation
