Responsibilities
The HR Specialist will provide proactive, practical HR support to leaders and colleagues at the Ansty Park site. This role focuses on employee relations, coaching managers, and ensuring HR policies and processes are applied consistently, fairly, and in line with UK employment legislation. In this role, you are acting as a trusted advisor, and balancing a people-first approach with strong commercial awareness.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the recruitment and selection process and ensure correct approval is obtained in cooperation with Talent Acquisition
- Provide ongoing support to managers for using HR systems proficiently
- Advise line managers on performance management with a focus on establishing standards of performance and effective feedback and monitoring in order to assist individuals return to an effective performance level
- Manage all long term absence cases using effective methods and implementing reasonable adjustments to ensure the timely return of employees to work where possible
- Manage all aspects of employee terminations and short or long term absences including maternity leave, special leave etc
- Support change management activities such as restructuring and redundancies
- First line support for supervisors and managers where required, including resolution and/or escalation of issues where appropriate.
- Work as an active member of the HR HPT to continuously improve what we do and how we do it and support the development of action plans
- Ensure all payroll processing requirements are professionally managed
- Ensure all necessary employee records and systems are kept up to date and maintained to the standards required by the legislation.
- Support HRBP with projects linked to cyclical processes (examples include but not limited to engagement planning activities, talent and succession and merit cycles)
- Maintain accurate HR data, produce recurring reports and identify trends/actions.
Who we are looking for
- Proven experience in a HR role, preferably within an environment looking after a number of different stakeholders
- CIPD Qualified
- Working knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR legislation
- Experience of handling employee relations and change management processes end to end.
- Ability to build relationships with a wide range of people
- A structured approach with strong planning and organisational skills
- A continuous Improvement mindset
