The Business Systems Analyst I (BSA) is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of one to many projects and tasks in varying IT areas such as application support, business intelligence, robotic process automation and others. In addition to coordination and oversight of technical tasks during the execution phase of the project, the Business Systems Analyst I (BSA) will be responsible for gathering and documenting customer requirements by interviewing and understanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT practices and terminology in order to be knowledgeable enough to know when to raise questions in order to correctly drive the project execution tasks to completion. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization, and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. Responsibilities:
• Learn company process and continually look for efficiencies and ways to automate
• Build reports in Power BI and/or automations in Power Automate
• Work with the functional business teams to understand reporting and automation use cases, expectations and timelines.
• Gather understanding and requirements by utilizing a user centric approach, conducting interviews, and workshops with business stakeholders and users
• Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the development life cycle
• Document/communicate root cause analysis on issues
Must-haves:
• Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Understanding of Business Intelligence and Reporting tools.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
• Strong organizational skills
Preferred:
• Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address process improvements
• Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying.
• Basic knowledge of requirements documentation tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, Jira, and/or Azure DevOps
• Strong knowledge of project planning and execution, using tools such as MS Project
• Understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies
