Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.The Pilot PBS Award Analyst is responsible for the production of Pilot monthly schedules for Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge & Air Canada Cargo using the Preferential Bid System (PBS). The incumbent will also provide support to the Manager, FOPS Pilot PBS Awards.
Responsibilities:Responsible for producing monthly pilot schedules using the IBS Preferential Bid System (PBS).Analyze business requirements for PBS to create specifications and conduct system testing.Responsible for representing the company when dealing with the Pilots union (ALPA) and in resolving issues within the ALPA PBS committee.Coordinate with Pairing Analysts for adjustments to pairings for efficient blocking.Coordinate with Advanced Planning on the setting of Designated Block Maximums & Reserve Targets.Facilitate the PBS processes for flight training requirements, including SIM assignments, OE/RLC, QOE/TLC, and IOE.Complete the monthly award of Pilot SDO’s as a pre-process to PBS bidding.Test and investigate system updates, issues, and enhancements with the software vendor. Maintain and enhance vendor relationships to drive results.Evaluate, recommend, implement and manage existing and new procedures and processes.Responsible for developing test scripts for new releases, contract changes, and soft rule changes. Make recommendations for optimal performance.Participate in regular meetings with all related groups that affect and are affected by the PBS process.Proactively identify issues and/or changes to business processes based on test and production results that will improve crewing efficiency and minimize costs for the company.Maintain positive working relationships with other departments including but not limited to, Flight Operations, Flight Training, Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning, and Crew ITEnsure PBS planning is in compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.
QualificationsPost-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (such as Aviation, Operations, or Business) is considered an asset.Minimum of 3 + years of experience in a similar position.Results oriented and attention to details.Excellent management and organizational skills.Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work flexible hours.Strong working knowledge of Windows programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.Air Canada system knowledge an asset.Previous experience working with Collective Agreements is an asset.In Flight Service and/or Flight Operations experience is a definite asset.Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
